How to book a flight with Ryanair?

The booking procedure may seem complicated, especially the first time. Once you have chosen your travel details, additional services such as car hire, hotels, travel insurance will be offered at additional cost. These offers can be accepted or declined individually. Below please find a step by step guide through the booking procedure.

Step1: Choose departure airport and travel destination, date and number of passengers

Choose Magdeburg Cochstedt (CSO) as departure airport, followed by one of the four destination airports. Then enter your preferred travel date and the number of travelling persons. Tick the box at “my travel dates are flexible” if your travel dates are not fixed. This allows you later to choose the cheapest flights which quite often are just 1-3 days different to your originally planned travel date.

Step2: Choose your flight and fare

You will now be shown available departure days and the appropriate fares. Below the departure date you will see the price per person. Click on a day to view the price including fees (the total price is shown at the very bottom of the page).

Select a flight
You will now see the relevant departure days with the cheapest fare of each day. This price does not show the actual costs as additional fees vary greatly.
Then all details of the chosen flight will be shown, including departure airport, destination, relevant times and the number of passengers.

Online-Check-In: This fee cannot be avoided and is part of the total fare.

Total
This shows you the actual total cost of your selected flight. This fare includes all passengers in total, including taxes and fees. Select your flights then click “select and continue”.

The next page displays an overview of the details entered. On this page, you will need to tick the box confirming that you have read and accepted Ryanair’s terms and conditions. Click on “confirm flights”, which will bring you to the entry page of details for all passengers.

Step 3: Passenger Data and additional fees and charges

Enter your first and surname here, ensuring correct spelling, which has to match your passport or personal identity card. Next to the passenger data, choose the number of checked baggage items. Hand luggage of up to 10kg is free of charge. Additional luggage can be booked here.

Answer „yes“, when asked „would you like to be one of the first passengers on board?“ if you would like to board a few minutes before most of the other passengers (priority boarding). Seats cannot be reserved for Ryanair flights.

Optional travel insurance will be offered next at an additional cost. This service is optional and can be accepted or declined.

Once all details are entered, a total of all costs will be listed at the bottom of the page. Should you decline all optional extras such as insurance, checked baggage or priority boarding, no further charges will be added.

Now you will need to enter your contact details (address, telephone number, e-mail address). Complete all required fields and accept the booking conditions to enter into the payment page.

Step 4: Payment

A standard credit card is required for payment. Use of a prepaid MasterCard will incur no further charges. If you do not possess a credit card, a prepaid MasterCard can be obtained at a low cost at many banks or via the internet.

Once all the payment details and an invoice address are entered, click on „book now“. This process can take up to 45 seconds, before directing you to the booking confirmation. Only when the confirmation page shows “CONFIRMED”, your flight is booked and your holiday can begin.

Once the booking is complete, you will be sent a booking confirmation along with a reference number by e-mail.

Should an error message be displayed, check your e-mail account first to verify that you have not already received a confirmation e-mail. Occasionally error messages appear despite a booking being completed correctly. If you book again immediately, you may have booked twice.

After a successful booking Ryanair offers online check in only. That means: your boarding card must be printed at home before departing for the airport. Should you be unable to present a boarding pass at the airport, there is a €40 charge per person for re-issue of a boarding pass at the Ryanair service counter.
Bookings also may be made by telephone on +49 (0) 39267 606-444 or in person with our booking service centre
